Coming out of Asheboro, NC is uniquely Stacy Lambert creative interpreation on the contemporary face jug, a multi-headed face jug. Instead of just one face there are 11 heads (each of which takes Stacy 7 minutes each to create), 1 little creature figural stopper, 12 faces on the body of the jug, 4 faces on the handle, and finally an additional 4 on the jug lip. That's 20 faces in total! The jug was fired with a green glaze decorated with melted blue antique Milk of Magnesia bottle glass that Stacy collected. Stacy is an extremely talented potter who has
been taking the traditional forms of North Carolina potters and making them his
own. A friend called him the Salvador
Dali of North Carolina Pottery. Stacy
learned to pot by apprenticing under Sid Luck in Seagrove. The multi-headed jug stands 8.5 inches tall and is signed by Stacy on the bottom along with his ‘Stacy’ stamp and 2010 date. Most excellent condition.
