Reola Harris Catawba Indian Master Potter Duck Figural

Reola Harris (1921-1991) was a famed Master Potter of Catawba Indian Nation.  She began signing pots in the late 1970's and earlier worked in the Cherokee Trade.  She was the sister of potter Nola Campbell and twin sister of pottery Viola Robbins.  Also her daughter Cora Hedgepath has recently made quite a name for herself as a potter.  I would describe Reola as the most abstract of the Catawba potters and her pots have bulbous thickly walled forms.  This duck effigy stands 2.5 inches tall by 3 inches length and dates to the 1980's.  Mint condition.
