Matt Hallyburton Pottery 1 G Alkaline Jug

Matt Hallyburton created this super light, perfectly symmetrical out of a mix of clays, including from the Catawba Valley.  Fired earlier in the year in Hal Dedmond's kiln in the Catawba Valley.  Matt's originally from the Catawba Valley (Rutherford College) and currently lives in Durham.  The jug is just a great example of a traditional form with beautiful glass runs off the handle.  Uniformly fired finish.  Nice amount of quartz in the glaze.  Thumb print handle finish and incised line decoration in the jug neck.  Stands a foot tall.  Mint condition.
