Being shown are a matching pair Catawba Indian ware candlesticks that were coil-formed and pit fired at the Catawba Nation outside Rock Hill, SC. This form was produced by a number of Catawba potters for the tourist trade. These appear to be from about the 1940's. There is a superb combination of orange, white, grey, and black hues. Each candlestick stands 3.5 inches tall by 4 inches wide. Overall excellent condition with a few scratches and tiny nicks (definitely no firing/drying lines).
