In fall 2009 Clint Alderman decided to move back to North Georgia from Hartwell, but before he made that fateful decision he decided to 'ruin' his kiln by firing salt glaze in his alkaline kiln. Of course this didn't matter since post the firing he was going to take down the kiln and rebuild it at his new home near Clarksville. But this did mean that he would only one salt glaze firing before switching back to alkaline. Hence the approximate 50 or so odd salt glazed pots are particularly rare. Many of these pots are one-of-a-kind out of the salt glaze kiln firing (sometimes such as with roosters there were 2 or 3 made). To the best of our knowledge this is the only stacker jug made for the firing. It is definitely a unique pot as it salt glaze and Clint's name emblazoned on the pot decorated in cobalt. Furthermore there are two roses designed sweeping across the sides of the jug, also decorated in cobalt. It is quite a statement in folk art and a piece of which Clint was obviously quite proud. The jug stands 10 inches tall and is in mint condition.
