Marcus of of the few remaining Master
Potters of the Catawba and one of their most elite artists, creates this
amazing coil-formed 6 sided pipe. Marcus, born 1960 and
grandson of Arzada Sanders, works rarely in clay now except the spirit
moves him. The level of burnishing (or rubbing) and incised decoration
makes this pot incredibly attractive. The King Hagler effigy form has
great tradition with the Catawba Nation, based upon the 18th century
famous chief known as King Hagler. Signed and dated 12-25-98-how appropriate as a Christmas present. The length is 4.5 inches.
