Billy’s figurals are known for their wonderfully unique glazes.  This dark alkaline drippy glazed pig or sow more specifically is a great example.  Excellent detail from the 10 nipples to twisted tail to eyebrows.  This definitely a proud mama pig with her head pointed high in the air.  Marked with “XIII” to denote that it was fired in Billy’s 13th kiln (early 90’s).  Billy makes very little pottery available for sale, learning originally from ML Owens in the 1970's, and opening his own shop about a quarter century ago.  The sow has a length of 7 inches by 5 inches in height.  Excellent condition.
